You are comparing apples to oranges here.

RFID in the wrong hands has the potential to virtually elsave the entire population. (although even current proponents would oppose this idea)

P2P is different completely. I think people who violate reasonable copyright law should be prosecuted. However I do use a torrent app to download OSS packages and even GNU/Linux distro's. In fact some of the DVD iso's are only available through a torrent.

Those who use the reasoning that their use of P2P allows them to "get back" at the abusive RIAA are only hurting the rest of us. It causes technologically illiterate lawmakers (along with the lawmakers bought off by the RIAA) to pass laws which hurt us all. Anyone remember Sen. Hatch's proposed bill which would have allowed the RIAA to hide a hardware destroying trojan in music files?

If we are truly interested in getting the RIAA's attention we should STOP buying their crap.

Use existing laws to go after copyright infringements and leave P2P alone.
