- At least the sales staff have been recognized.
-
An earlier article about HP layoffs had said sales staff were vulnerable. The same article observed that HP realized its weakness was not selling well. This seemed a good example of the rule of reduction:
If a company has a problem, the answer is to lay off the people who can solve it.
But the rule of reduction is probably being applied to segments of HP other than sales.
I hope the company does not eat its seed corn.
A prior HP article had noted that R&D was already limited by what would produce a product for sale in a short time. Laying off R&D staff would be disastrous for HP, I think. It's the Wall Street recommendation for Sun and I'm sure it would help HP's stock price. It would also bring down the company. - Posted by: Anton Philidor Posted on: 07/15/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
