This is becomming a reality for the entry-level PCs. I suspect that as computing becomes more and more mainstream for everyone, there may be 'specialty' higher-end PCs for people with 'eclectic' taste, like with sporty cars. I guess that is way several companies attempted to combine the entertainment center with the home PC(s).
Low prices are not a bad idea, BUT low to zero profit margins will push OEMs out of business. Then you may have to get stuck with the 20$ PC made in some farm-turned to PC assembly line in Mongolia.
But again we cannot make any safe forecastings since tech + habits change unexpectedly.
