Where does the power come from
Sodium is extracted from its compounds by electrolysis. Not only is heat required to melt the salt, but considerable electicity is required to extract the metal. Unless there is a way to generate the electricity that is both clean and economical (nuclear power produces fallout and thus doesn't count), this isn't going to clear the air very much.

Like the prof in my digital electronics class in college used to say (in a thick Chinese accent), "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch".
