It is NOT a waning industry, just a saturated market. The big monster companies that thrived before the total saturation are getting hungry for revenue and not really providing the innovation/inspiration they once were. Consumers aren't flocking to media center PC's and probably never will. Anyone who wants their entertainment center connected to their PC, most likely, has already done so. If a company could produce a viable OS upgrade for older, slower consumer machines instead of forcing hardware upgrades, they could generate that much needed revenue!
