Minorities make small gains in science jobs

How about if we just don't ask about ethnicity

What?s really offensive to me is that someone can be considered racist simply because they want to ban the consideration of race all together. When they had auditions for a major symphony, and they put a curtain around the musician so that the conductor couldn?t see the race or sex of the applicant, the politically correct race police put a stop to it. When they tried to ban race information on college admission applications in California, they called its black proponent a racist. What ever happened to being judged for the content of your character and not for the color of your skin? What?s offensive to me is when people assume there is racism or gender bias simply because the numbers aren?t proportional to the race. What they?re saying is that we can?t point out that groups may be different.

In the silicon valley, I find it ironic that we can?t consider European descendants minorities when they really are. Personally, I couldn?t care less about race. I?m Asian, and nothing the BostonITGuy said offends me.
