Linux and Windows
Although i like rooting for Linux, as a IT manager, i continue to see a single huge compelling reasons to continue our migration to Windows: speed to deployment.

In our datawarehouse the cost to design, code, and deploy a end to end BI process solution on Linux/Oracle/mySQl is cost prohibitive. On the other hand, Windows has great tools, lots of developers, free VIP services like SQL Reporting Services, and so on. Constant patching aside, we're very happy with Windows/SQL.

Unlike the offshoring labor issue (which i personally think many companies that offshore are scewing themselves), the issue of Linux vs. Windows, for companies bigger than 50, is a near no brainer.
