the Athlons ran really hot compared to current chips, and there were some videos done by Toms Hardware that showed an Athlon XP fry itself in seconds when they took off the heatsink. Their intel test didnt do that, but not because the intel chip runs any cooler, just because it has built in temperature detection and djusts, or turns itself off accordingly.

some people read something and think its the truth for years to come, no matter what.
