The genius of Intel...
It seems that only Intel can manage to srink the die and increase power consumption and thermal load. Prescott, anyone?

Another article gigged AMD because they would be transitioned to 65nm a full year after Intel. What they fail to realize is that the inefficient design of the Intel chips requires the move. AMD's transition can be gradual since the efficiency of their core design allows more work to be performed per clock cycle. Intel's Netburst architecture was a step backward performing less work per clock cycle. Intel has finally seen the light and the Netburst is coming to an end.
