global vs. local
It's also a global world as far as security . . . but yet, we as Americans should look out primarily for our security (as other countries should look out primarily for their security also).

This is a falacy today that we should cease to be "American" (i.e. look out primarily for the interests of American and Americans) simply because it's a global economy. Even in an economy that reaches beyond our borders, since we are Americans, we should still put America first. This is how we all operate our personal finances as well. Our personal finances reach beyond the confines of our houses . . . and while we should be interested in funding charities, schools and government, our primary interest is our own financial situation (house, car, etc.).

This is just logic . . . and to think otherwise can be harmful. If our own personal finances aren't in order, how can we fund other institutions? If our own country's finances aren't in order, how can we fund international endeavors like foreign aid, security, and economic "fueling"?
