These are all jellybean components at next to nothing profit margins. There are companies like Microchip that sells 1/2BILLION 8051's so volume does not mean squat.
IBM Microelectronics group is basically now a chip foundary. The build anything from CELL chips for Sony, Qualcomm cellphones chips, Power, Opterons and router chips for Cisco.
