tic...Windows on PPC or Cell...
With the release of the PPC-based gaming consoles (and the Xbox 360 specifically) are you sure Windows will not be running on PPC in the future?

>>> It's not like Windows will hop to PPC or Cell. And while the PPC and Cell have a bigger upside, it would be a big gamble to wait around for that to materialize. Here, Jobs played it safe and assured himself of at least a tie. >>>

The original Xbox seemed a Trojan Horse (too close to an actual computer than a dedicated gaming box) and Linux hacks proved the point. The new Xbox is even more of a "desktop computer" with claims of "media centre/hub" use and functionality (using Windows XP Media Center OS?)

With MS using Mac G5s to supposedly develop for the new Xbox (and even run recent Xbox demos from Macs); constant delays in Longhorn (and hints of still secret features or functionality... are delays due to a transition in processors?); and Intel and MS not exactly being the best of friends lately, you have to wonder if MS is eventually going to move to the PPC.

PPC does seem to hold more promise at present so what does Jobs know of Intel's future processors that we don't? No matter what one thinks of Jobs and love him or hate him, he's not exactly stupid and has a great (though not perfect) track record so he must have good reason and a viable business plan to go Intel over IBM/PPC.

Apple --> Intel... MS --> PPC... How ironic would that be???
