The fact that Apple has been running OS X (and the other Apple
Apps) on both platforms for 5 years gives me a major feeling of
comfort.

They gave Moto plenty of time to get their act in gear before
oving to IBM, and they gave IBM time to get THEIR act together.
For the past 5 years, however, they have kept the Intel option on
the back burner - just in case. The 3 months without being able
to deliver an iMac was probably the last straw.

I hqave a feeling, however, that this will not be your
grandfather's X86 that will be going in future Macs, now will it
be the current dual chips. Both Intel and Apple have the
expertise to bring oiut something that will keep developers and
users very happy in the long run.

The real question is what happened to IBM for them to blow
their deal with Apple?
