Forgetting something else
Read on another site that intel has never made a proprietary PC cpu for a single computer company. Not to mention to make a PowerPC chip they would have to have a license to do so or risk being sued by IBM. It could be possible that this may be a move to push Itanium mainstream.
Has anyone considered that maybe (this is a long shot) Apple is making a move to eventually become just a software company?
