- Apple/Intel Partnership

What happens to us out there that already own the Powermac G5
with the IBM PPC Chip? Will my Powermac still be supported as
well with all the other users that have a IBM PPC chip installed?
And what about the software that has to be recompiled to work
on an x86 platform. Will apple leave us behind when it comes to
updates and patches for our current systems?
I'm not to wild about this idea as I have spent a lot of money on
my Powermac G5 with dual CPU's just a few months ago.
I think IBM should get off their butts and make faster CPU's for
the Apple Mac.
I can see Apples point in trying to find a chip maker to supply
them with faster CPU's as with Intel, but I still am uneasy about
the switch. - Posted by: wadeprater Posted on: 06/06/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
