It would be one of the most stupid moves of all time to allow their FreeBSD variant to run on just any box, IMO. Not to mention the HW compatibility issues that would have to plague the OS if it goes in the wild. They would probably need to spend some bucks to expand the compatibility list just to lose money in HW sales. I just don't see it happening. And for what? To go toe to toe with Windows? That is one heck of a gamble for an already profitable company.
