- Fear of Windows Server caused this...
- My rep and I were chatting over lunch today and we both came up with the same idea. That this silly purchase was done as a direct response to the tremendous growth of Windows Server 2003 in the enterprise. Sun knows that UFS does not scale as well as NTFS and that Microsoft's file system is the creme de la creme of filesystems. My rep and I often look at disk defragmentation tools and are aghast at how colorful the file system truly is. Sun is finished. Nobody will buy gear from Sun, it is obvious. Sun will find no success with this and this will help speed up their demise to the delight my rep and I.
