Don't do it
Not yet at least. What I have found is that AMD64 is BARELY supported in Linux. Most Linux software won't run, and even the compilers wouldn't work on my Mandriva 2005 LE load. I got sick of it as my primary computer, so it switched places with my 2600 Athlon - for now.

I do NOT reccommend this chip at this time.
