We all agree opteron is a good design
Your initial rhetoric that AMD wipes the floor, blah blah is stupid rhetoric. You have no basis to say that Opteron is "more reliable". What the heck is that about?

The K5 was an utter disaster that melted in place since it had no thermal circuit breaker.

Opteron is a good design and AMD is enjoying good wins in 4 way server. Beyond that, end customers don't buy chips, they buy complete platforms. Intel consistently delivers good platform solutions. Max/min chip level analysis is not a valid metric- that's old school. It's real life application metrics that matter, average power, peak load, etc.

Nobody cares about your K6-2 that lasted a whole 4 years. You can share that on AOL if you like.
