Note to IBM - Stick with Intel
It's obvious why IBM sticks with Intel. They are the biggest, baddest semiconductor house around. Sure, Opteron is a good chip for 4 way servers, but a good chip does not equate to a good platform. For single processor and dual, it's awash.

At the end of the day, IBM is no dummy. They know AMD is like Halley's comet - they come around every once in a while with a good product, it's here now, and it's Opteron. The next great product will be here in 76 years.

In 2006, it's all over when Intel dumps their Netburst design for something that will blow AMD out of the water. For the long haul, you ride the horse with a 30 year track record, not a 2 year track record.
