I have one of those older homes with coax in 4 rooms. But, the coax is of such poor quality, our HSISP had to run a more "robust" coax from the box to my house.
After that, WIFI was the only route I could take. And, by the connections I see sprouting up on my secure network, I'm not the only one. I've wepped my system, but can climb into my neighbor's signal very easily. Got my own hotspot right next door. Now, maybe I could bridge that and get out of the $40/month charge.
Anyway...coax standards 10 years ago are not what they are now. If I would have known this techie thing was going to explode, I would have put cat5 in. Oh well...sigh...
