With 8 SPEs all with their own memory and an unbelievably fast internal bus the through put is nothing short of astounding.

Also keep in mind that Windows has already been ported to the PowerPc which is the heart of the Cell. (XBox anyone?) And of course OS X is ready anytime.

The fact is the x86 instruction set was wonderful, 20 years ago. Things have progressed a bit since then.
