You Need IEEE1394 (FireWire)
Keep your Digital Video in digital form when going to the computer. I have a Canon GL2 mini DV camcorder, I use a Sony mini DV player hooked to my computer through a firewire cable, I use Adobe Premiere 6.5 for capture and edit, I use Impression Pro for DVD burning and have excellent results with the final product. I can get approx 1 hr and 45 minutes of video/audio on one 4.7 GB DVD, (-R or +R). If you change the video to analog at any point there is considerable quality loss and increased file size. What format is your Camcorder? Is it a DV format or just digital tape? There is a pretty big difference, I have found the DV format to be the best, it is professional quality.
