Compatability with "Players" is the real problem
Most discs are compatable with all burners. Sure there are exceptions to the rules, but most burners will burn almost any brand of media (if they support the format and speed). The major problem is that many dvd players are extremely picky on what discs they play. Pioneer players have the widest range of compatable media. Not only that, but DVD-R play on more players than DVD+R do.
