This is such a narrow minded comment and can only come from someone who hasn't been in Europe yet.
I have worked for US Companies for 20 years (6 of which at IBM).
I always found that US companies have been well received, and they in return offered employment.
In terms of where the jobs are going: they are simply disappearing: the jobs being axed are "Management" jobs at the European level NOT software or hardware development jobs which could be outsourced to Asia.
