Not certain what you mean when you say it will out carry wireless. That certainly isn't indicitive of any of the tests.

Regardless, what is the cost per foot to put fiber in the ground? Keep in mind that only about 12% of the US even has DSL or cable due to the cost involved. If they can't afford to bury a decent copper line, what makes you think they can bury fiber AND pay for the headend equipment?

Let's see, bury one fiber line to a transmitter and cover hundreds of homes with true high speed connections, or bury another wire (fiber) to every one of those same homes. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Perhaps you are confusing 802.16 with the current forms of wireless (802.11b & G), if so you really need to read up on the subject, they share almost nothng in common outside the fact they are both wireless.

By the way, I can show you a lot of small towns that used wireless solutions because there was no way a wired solution could pay for itself. The baby bells and cable companies wouldn't even consider it.
