8/10 Well Made for Educational Presentations!

jjmiah442 - 02/11/09  (Edited: 02/11/09)

My company recently purchased the BenQ MP771 as a projector to use for charitable presentations that we do every once in a while for children in a near by kindergarten. We give a very good impression to the futures of tomorrow that we must preserve, recycle, and reuse if we want mother nature to continue provide us with the care, warmth, and support from all around us! =========THE PRO======= The reason why we initially purchased the MP771 was because we were told that it was a short-throw projector that required very little space constraints and that it was small, light, and mobile. To my amazement, it's been six months since we purchased the unit, and its awesome to work with! You really need very little space to mount the projector, because it doesn't need a long distance to project. The image can be projected from 67" all the way up to 300". The great thing about the projector is it's also 1024x768, 3000 lumens, and 2000:1 aspect ratio! =========THE CON========= Well like anything, nothing is perfect. The downside of course is price: It's MSRP should be around $2,500 USD, but you could always find it at a slightly lower price if you look around! The other con is that the projector has no zoom function, but it isn't that much effort to fix it since the projector itself is quite mobile! =========OVERALL========= I think the project is a done deal, definately not for personal use, because I'd prefer a LCD TV for my living room, but for educational purposes, classroom uses, corporate presentations, and other presentation purposes, I think it'd be great, easy and absolutely fun to use! You don't have to worry about blinding yourself while presenting with this short throw projector as the projector will not be far enough to get in your eye!

9/10 Awesome Short Throw projector!

Recently I purchase the BenQ MP771 for my meeting room, but my wife has seemed to be using it more than me since I've purchase d it for her students that she teaches at an elementary school. I purchased this unit through a friend's recommendation, much like how most people do, haha. One of the biggest reasons why I decided to go with this projector is because of its Short-Throw Technology, which allows you to project large images at short distances. Most projectors would only project images of 20~30 inches with the distance of 1 meter from the projector and screen while the BenQ MP771 will project an image of about 65 inches with only a meter of distance from the screen! The projector is also extremely bright even with shades open, and the sun glaring through the windows, as the projector comes with 3000 lumens. The MP771 also carries a higher contrast ratio of 2000:1 compared to most LCD projectors. And another reason why I chose a DLP projector was because my friends explained to me that DLP projectors have a much lower maintenance cost compared to LCD projectors. LCD projectors have the brighter image projections compared to DLP projectors; however LCD projectors suffer from color decay, and therefore would cost much more maintenance over the long run. Noise seems to be lower than competitors, which is definitely an extremely important aspect whether it is using it during a meeting, presentation, teaching, or even a movie. If the projector is making a lot of noise it will strain you while speaking and also distract your audience. Overall, I think this projector if worth its price tag and would very well play well in various environments where space would be an issue to the owner. Great clarity in projectors, colors look stunning, and definitely well spent for the price of it!
