5/10 You'd think Microsoft would play with Microsoft

RiderXXX - 07/16/09  (Edited: 07/16/09)

The VX-7000 functions with the software included. Making it work with Microsoft Live Messenger is another story. All seems well, which includes the setup of the webcam in the Tools section--the program and webcam seem happy. But when I make a video call, both I and the callee see a webcam drawing with a red X. I have a CompUSA webcam that is probably 10 years old and it functions fine but the resolution is poor, hence the purchase of the VX-7000. After 3 days of searching for a solution I came to the conclusion that no one else has had this problem or is willing to talk about it. I've never had any trouble installing other things to my PC which is controlled by XP Pro. I generously ranked the VX-7000 a 5 because it has a good picture for my intended use, attaches to my LCD monitor well, and does not have any audio feedback problems. It would have ranked higher had I been able to get it work for what I bought it for--making a video call.
