6/10 could have been a contender

The Screenplay Pro HD is a great idea with well executed hardware and poor execution of software. The image quality is excellent with both 720P and 1080i HD support for component and HDMI. Network access is very slow, it takes several hours to transfer a DVD sized file. Wi-fi support is very limited, only a few USB dongles work. The user interface is bare bones at best, simple and ugly with no search functions and nothing to organize the 1TB disk but directory structure and Winamp playlists. The remote is tiny, poorly organized with very weak IR that only works straight on at short distances. HDMI audio is shaky, some ripped DVD's will play HDMI audio, some won't - encoder/codec doesn't seem to make a difference. Decent video recorder... but only from composite input. Users report reliability issues with the Seagate 1TB disk based on firmware problems which Iomega refuses to address. Expect ZERO updates from Iomega as this product is still running version 1.0 software/firmware. Visit the Iomega "support" forum and view the lamentations of the owners. With just a little more effort, the Pro HD could have been great, but Iomega just doesn't care.
