7/10 Krave ZN4 the Ming WannaB?

sonoffar@... - 12/02/08  (Edited: 12/02/08)

As I read your reviews my attention keeps returning to my 3 year old Motorola Krave ZN4. No...wait a minute...that's my Motorola A12. The venerable and much loved, MING. Where I come from, if it looks like duck, and it sounds like a duck, AND it walks like a duck, it is very likely a duck! So here we have the ZN4. It sounds like a very well appointed phone with every thing desirable, except the Mings intuitive hand writing feature. Granted a feature hated by some but loved by those of us who took the time to learn to write in a consistent manner. In exchange the ZV4 has a touch sensitive cover that sounds like a great feature. How does it work when the Krave is slipped into the back pocket of a pair of well filled jeans? A description of the ZN4's, 'short comings,' sounds much like those same complaints that were attached to my Ming. Not many and not a big deal. The looks, provided by photos found here at ZD Net, show me that Motorola went on the cheap when it came to fit and finish for the Krave. Where's the shiny chrome and the outstanding soft texture coat that makes my Ming not only beautiful but virtually drop proof and slip resistant? The Motorola Krave ZN4 almost makes it as an A12-Ming but as the saying goes, they " missed it by just that much".
