Cable COs no longer protected as Common Carrier?
Does this also mean that since those cable internet companies no longer wish to operate as a "Common Carrier", then those same businesses can no longer claim the legal defence of "Common Carrier"?

While operating as a "Common Carrier" may be a economic burden, it also provides a great defence against being sued for the content being transmited by its customers. See

If the cable internet companies choose no longer to operate as a "common carrier", then is it effectively at risk from a barage of lawsuits? Not only libel but also copyright infringement lawsuits from the RIAA and Hollywood for ALL content distributed over the cable company's network.

The genie that has been let out of this bottle could be more trouble than expected.
