YOu should learn about telecom before you post!
If you are in an area that has FTTD (Fiber To The Door), then it comes into a device that terminates the line. From that box comes all the lines in the building (which may include services such as video, phone, Internet, etc). Inside the building, if it is wired for fiber in the rooms (unlikely, but it could happen), then one gets a piece of fiber (probubly an MT-RJ cable) and connects the host device to the signal booster (repeater in fiber terms). More likely, the internal wiring will still be copper or they will be using a Wi-Fi link (this is a LAN, so Wi-MAX is not applicable) and the external connection would be FTTD.

Your post is either absurd of based upon complete cluelessness. Further, they do not suspend fiber lines, the stress would break them (in either 62.5/125nm and 50/125nm form). Both types allow for integrated services over the same line (voice, video, telecom, etc.) and have multi gigabit capacity unless chocked (restricted).
