Cable is only UP TO 5mbps DSL is steady
They 'forget' to tell you that. The difference in the way the systems work means that the more users that get on your cable segment, the more speed depreciates. With DSL each connection is isolated so you pretty well always get the 1.6mbps. I've had Qwest DSL for 5 years now and never had a problem. My coworker has Cox and it and the TV go out occasionally for an hour or so. Yeah, right, like I'd order phone service from Cox.
