10/10 Vista Damaged Nobody...

Narg - 08/05/09

I get sick of the "Vista Damage" B.S. on sites like this. For those that actually USED Vista, they came away far from damaged. But, rather in a much better place than with XP. All this damage talk is nothing more than FUD created by anti-MS fanatics.

10/10 Vista rocks and Windows 7 will only be better!

jmtecho - 08/06/09  (Edited: 08/06/09)

I agree Narg. I have Vista on 3 systems and it's rock solid. Friends of mine that have Vista think it's great and don't understand what all the bad press is about. The anti-MS journalists caused all the FUD. But don't take my word for it. Paul Thurrott has been writing about Vista since before its release and has A LOT of positive comments about the OS.

9/10 old machines shouldn't be upgraded from xp

gbryantiv - 09/23/09

Vista was fine for new machines (that matched its specs) when launched but anyone that upgraded an XP machine to vista was asking for disappointment. The RAM and Video hardware necessary just didn't exist in mainstream oem computers. Similarly I wouldn't upgrade an XP machine to Win7 since those requirements are the same. If your Vista machine runs fine, then it should run better in Win7.

10/10 Best Beta Software I every tried.

Northlite - 09/23/09

Been using Ultimate Win 7 since it came out when everyone was allowed to beta it and haven't had any problems at all on my three year old entry level dual core laptop - my main work computer. The install went smooth, my previous software worked on it fine as it did from XP to Vista. I don't really need it since Vista does run fine so I won't be buying the upgrade I'll wait and get it on new computer already installed. The sneak peek has been fun. I have realized that I could make due with any version as I really don't use the extras the ones I do I bring my own. The only thing I liked getting back from XP was the tool tip that tells you the names first few pics in a folder when you hover the mouse over it since I work on a web site that I store hundreds of photos for it is handy when I am looking for certain pics.
