3/10 I should have heeded your warning about customer service!

cactushugger - 11/04/08

I used AVG Free for years, so I figured I should pony up the $50 for the paid version. I downloaded and installed it on Oct. 23, 2008, and spent the next nine days unsuccessfully attempting to run a system scan. Repeated attempts to delete and reinstall the product all resulted in an "unspecific error". On Oct. 30, I sent detailed information to AVG including screen captures of every error message. FIVE days later, I finally got a response from Tech Support saying they needed more information. Meanwhile, I reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled all of my applications. I am underwhelmed, and will be looking for a product with better tech support.
