RE: Virtualizing onto mainframes: How to make it fit
This article had me puzzled until I went and looked at the product range the author is selling. Any current mainframe shop would ask themselves why they'd go to that much trouble to determine what to virtualise when they could simply put it in virtual and see how it runs (for a fraction of the effort!)
This approach seems to be offering voodoo magic for those who (a) don't know what their million-Windows-Server-farm is doing, (b) have been told a mainframe might help, (c) are afraid of what IBM might do to them if they were sucked in to the weird mainframe cult, but (d) desperately want to reduce their costs. My advice to them is stay well away from mainframes, or else talk to someone who actually runs them.
