This is another definition for the term Vista (I wouldn't be surprised if it became a marketing and business term):

Any product in which the company does not pay attention whatsoever to its customers' needs and opinions.

Using such definition "Vista" (the marketing term) will NEVER, EVER be mainstream for Microsoft (the only company in the world that could try to pass such crap and expect people to buy it), much less for companies that follow the laws of the marketplace and those written by congress.

The next Microsoft OS will be very un-Vista, and that will prove that we (the people who *pay* for all the hardware and software) were right, and Microsoft (plus you) were wrong.
