The solution ISNT simple...
The United States will never take education seriously because education begins within the family and the family structure is broken, at best. The parents (or should I correct myself and say the absentee-parents) that we've had for the past 2 generations are raising jackasses who sleep in class all day, goof off if they're awake, and know that mommy (good luck on finding daddy) will defend their every wrong-doing and have the teacher fired if they dont give them at least a C for showing up.

We have the past two generations of "breeders" who have done nothing but party and have fun at the expense of teaching their children what is truly important in this world: respect, integrity, fairness, responsibility, sacrifice and more. No. Instead they've instilled qualities such as rudeness, impatience, dependence on medication as the answer to everything, sense of entitlement 'just because', need for instant gratification at the peril of others around them (i.e. a huge level of selfishness) and so forth). We have a bunch of babies in this nation who are now into their teens themselves.

We have more of a problem than your simple solution. We need to stop placing importance on fun and games and start getting back to the way things were in the 1940s and 1950s. Nothing WRONG came from that period unless you consider hard work, self reliance, patriotic defense of the USA and so forth wrong.
