Oh Gosh
Well, then, I suppose you don't want to know that what we now call the internet got it's start as a government entity, specifically the US Defense Department. It later exteneded on to universities, Sir Tim Brenners-Lee invented the world wide web which replaced Gopher and so on.

Rants are usually so much fun but when you can't even bother to get your facts right yours tend to display your ignorance and reduce to zero the value of the rants.

One guy from the Mozilla Foundation worries that Adobe and Microsoft might have an agenda with Flash and Silverlight. Gee, ya think?

ZD Net reports it breathlessly as if this is somehow a new idea to someone. The agenda? It wouldn't be to make a buck would it?

None of this is on the point of what the poor guy was trying to say was that the Web, which isn't the internet BTW, should rely on open standards that everyone can use not proprietary binary blobs. Which just happens to be in line with Sir Tim Brenners-Lee's thinking about what he gave us all.

Somehow you suddenly see realms of government regulation, an assault on freebooting capitalism by some forces of darkness who just happen to be European. None of that was in the story or even hinted at.

Then again, I'm expecting you to make sense.
