Gurus, do we need them?
Or at least education and science is the key to identifying which people have rational arguments and experimental evidence to support what they say and those who are spouting nonsense.

Enthusiasm for XML places one firmly in the latter camp.

The term guru seems to imply some irrational belief in expert opinion. This guy is enthusiastic about XML and is therefore by definition promoting an obsolete at birth technology, possibly for financial gain maybe merely because he's ignorant and misguided. The end result is the same.
