FLASH NONSENSE
I dont understand anybody building fully dynamic web sites with Flash. Is true that you can do some neat stuff -we have done some- with Flash/Php, the fact remains that you can do the same with perl, jsp or phyton or php/MySQL, is just that doesn't make sense to build the interface in Flash.
When Flash appeared I found interesting potential but the program was crude so I said well it will refine with time but I still find a very disappointing experience working with it.

Just compare the score window in Director with Flash counterpart; you see that in Director all the program is optimized to help people work fast, I just dont feel the same in Flash, and I have a good amount of experience with both programs.

I dont understand why in every version they change keystrokes combination, even in the same version the program is inconsistent to that respect.

About that consistent look in ANY browser I dont thing is true, every new version you need to ask the client to download the new player and at this point I'm not sure that the current player support older browsers.

Bottom line I prefer by far the DHTML/CSS/Javascript combo to buid front end web sites; those are standard / free technologies, you dont need to pay to any corporation to give you a tool that they change every year and you must pay again to keep your development under they proprietary technology.

Here some extract from Macromedia papers (I was looking to solve a javascript/Flash communication issue time ago), I found amusing:
...The ability to control the Shockwave Flash from JavaScript and the ability to activate JavaScript from your .swf files opens up many new possibilities in creating highly interactive web pages. Before trying these things, it is important to realize that JavaScript is a new and immature technology and things may not go as smoothly as they should...
Well, in my view the inmature technologie is not Javascript...
