For me, this is great news.
This keeps these very important cross platform application out of the hands of Microsoft, and gives Microsoft on big competitor to help keep them at bay. I am hopefull that at least all of the client side software such as Flash and Acrobat will get good support on Linux. It is not as important that the development tools are available on Linux, but would love to see more support in that area.

LOOK FOR THE COMBINED COMPANY TO USE CROSS PLATFORM COMPATIBILITY TO COMPETE AGAINST MICROSOFT. WITH LINUX AND MAC GAINING ON THE DESKTOP, THIS COULD BE ONE BIG WAY TO GET AN ADVANTAGE AGAINST MICROSOFT.
