Missed the market
While IBM can be @ a new 52 week low, Sun can't afford to miss analyst projections. They finally admit that their business model of selling cheaper servers will take away from their high end ones. If 20% of their x86 servers are Solaris than the remainder must be sold at or near break even because that's there only incentive. We already know that AMD is not taking back ground from Intel & is spinning off its flash memory conerns. Like it or not, IBM/RH/(Dell) have handed Sun its head on a platter. So much for arrogance. It will take more than the superiority of a software server system to beat back Linux. It will take new leadership, sales motivation, and money. While Sun breathes its last breath, MS will consume their share of the market, and laugh over it. Say goodknight Chuck.
