It doesn't matter...
The general public for the most part is extremely ignorant when it comes to computing. No matter how superior, easier, elegant and cool Mac's are, they'll still go out and purchase what their neighbors, relatives or friends have. Superior marketing rules, not rational judgments.

And forget about Apple gaining any kind of significant footholds in the enterprise. IT guys love Windows because it's so non-intuitive and buggy, it provides them a very high degree of job security. If enterprise were to migrate back to Mac, half the IT force would lose their jobs. I've seen shops that were 50% Mac and 50% Windows. The support staffs time spent supporting the Windows using users was about 90% of all helpdesk calls.

People still think Macintosh systems are too much money. They still think there is no software for the Mac, especially their coveted games. People are either too busy or too lazy to research the truth.

The success of the iPod has helped Apple get some attention, but most people are still not taking a second look at the Mac.

I agree with you, OS X rocks. So did the Rolling Stones, but very few people are listening to them anymore. They prefer crappy hip hop or rap because that's what all their friends listen too. Same thing with computers. Sad, but true. We can evangelize the Mac all we want, it doesn?t seem to change anything.
