No, people never contributed to the funding or advancement of Opensource. Just be sure to disregard that little blemish a few months about about the Spread the Word Firefox Campaign which raised how much to get an ad in the New York Times?

I think it only doubled the amount needed in half the time required, or something cheap like that.

How about we all go to Mozilla.org and read about it.

Good products sell on merit, not marketing. Record Companies fail to see that, do you as well?
