is perfect for home users. It's all they really need for doing home photo alterations. Photoshop is geared more towards the graphic pro. There is a difference.
Besides, given the speed at which Linux and it's various apps progress, I am sure the Gimp will soon be up to Photo Shop par. As to the fact I am not an extensive graphics dude, the Gimp is all I need.
