Translation: open sourcing software is great, just as long ...

IBM thinks it is great to open source OSs, office software, and other software in a manner that takes out its competitors. However, would IBM open source Websphere or DB2? I don?t think so. This company is the height of hypocrisy. And as I?ve said many times before, the problem with the OSS movement, is not that its not about the free availability of software that anyone can do with as he pleases (which is true freedom): it is about the politicizing of the software industry, in a way people are constrained to use software in a decidedly socialist fashion - that undermines the value of IP.
