Simple, don't like it, don't use it!
If you don't like the GPL then don't use it, as Sun hasn't
with Solaris 10. Nobody is forcing anyone to use GPL
licensed code.

Some of us are happy to use GPL licensed code and we're
happy to abide by the license conditions, simply because it
is wonderful software.

If Sun isn't happy with the GPL they should start by
immediately boycotting all GPL code. They can start by
removing samba, the gnu compiler connection, mysql,
Linux compatibility thru Solaris LAE, etc from Solaris 10. Or
is it only OK to pick your targets Mr Schwartz?

Schwartz's comments about an open source version of Java
is also rubbish, forking of "Java" can be prevented with the
protection afforded under trademark laws. And an open
source version doesn't have to be licensed under the GPL.

Give us (the open source community) the opportunity to
port Java VMs more rapidly to new platforms and
distributions.

I've no problem with Sun, the products they produce are
terrific as exemplified with Solaris 10. But why does
Schwartz keep wanting to make a goose of himself with
these kind of statements?
