What are you talking about?

Linux powers major enterprise IT. Why does it "need some kind of critical surgery before its usable?"

You'll simply have to avoid using banking, credit cards, airlines, telephones and certainly computers if you want to avoid Linux. Just how did you manage to get your post out to the readers? Do you think we're still on OS-360, Exec 8, GCOS, ...?

Incidentally, NASA selected Linux for the Beowulf project specifically as a result of reliability testing. Or maybe reliability equates to unusability in your world?

Oh, right! You were wishing for a SCO victory. It isn't enough that computer jobs are fleeing overseas, you want more IT funds siphoned off into non-productive legal fees and stock options.

Maybe you're in some kind of parallel universe?
