Books on CDs
I could conceive the idea of replacing paper books with books in CD format if one could purchase the book with no strings attached. This would save a lot of trees. The game ?Mist? that came out about ten years ago fascinated me. The idea of involving the reader in the story, solving clues and the animation makes reading more interesting. If you want your murder mystery to have a different ending; have a random number generator mix up the plot.
I could envision loaning and selling my CD books to others. I could also see the prospects of trading or selling the book to half-price bookstores like I do paper books. I don?t see the problem with students taking some excerpts from ref CD books when writing course project papers. There has to be some flexibility and trust on both sides.
